3. The Szőnyi medal: a work of Miklós Borsos in the Szőnyi Museum This medal by Miklós Borsos is one of the best portraits of István Szőnyi and also the best characterization of his creative genius. The cast bronze medal was made for the 60th birthday of the artist and was intended as a tribute by a friend and fellowartist to the outstanding oeuvre created by Szőnyi up to this date. On the obverse Borsos presents a brilliantly characterized bust portrait of the artist, while the reverse shows the Zebegény studio, where Szőnyi worked with undiminished creativeness and in full possession of his excellent artistic qualities at the age of 60. The reverse also depicts the artist's requisites now exhibited in the Museum bearing his name, including the easel with a picture of a landscape characteristic of Zebegény. It was the Danube bank of Zebegény that primarily inspired Szőnyi's art in many pictures, drawings and etchings ever since 1923.
