Two settlements of this type were uncovered during the excavations preceding the motorway constructions. One was investigated in 2006 on the planned line of the M6 Motorway near Érd. The settlement lay on the bank of the Sulák Channel in an area known as Tepees, on the plainland extending along the Danube. The settlement was protected by a multiple ditch system at both ends. Most of the roughly 100 excavated settlement features were storage pits, some of which had an animal sacrifice on the floor. Some of the sunken buildings functioned as workshops, others were rectangular, square or round houses built around a timber framework. One pit contained an inhumation burial, another one yielded a cremation burial with weapons. 4. • Katalin Ottományi 4. cölöplyuk 3. cölöplyuk 5.cök plyuk 6. cölöplyuk 2. cölöplyuk 1.
