István Danyi the elder was bom in 1902, so he essentially is of the same age of our century and he died in 1988 at his age of 86. Until his death, except the period between 1960 and his retirement (the so-called period of co-operative farming), he was individual farmer, cultivated his land and tended his stock, namely as he was accustomed to it from his early childhood, he worked in the usual way what was familiar at Besenyszög.

He not only practised and handed down them to his sons and grandsons, but he wrote them down at nights when he was employed as a night-watchman in his pensioner years. These long notes show the story of all of his life as well as his opinions of political changes and other events. But we only used the datas referring to farming.
