Josef Willroider Villach, 1838 - München, 1915 Autodidaktaként kezdte a pályáját, majd Münchenben megismerkedett a barbizoni törekvések új tájképfestészeti koncepciójával. 1866-1888 között Düsseldorfban élt, majd élete utolsó évtizedeiben ismét Münchenben. Többször járt Hollandiában. Lírai tájképei a francia paysage intime hagyományát követték. Ses paysages lyriques s'inscrivent dans la tradition du paysage intime français. Josef Willroider Villach, 1838 - Munich, 1915 Willroider began his career as a self-taught artist, and became acquainted with the Barbizon concept of new landscape painting when he was in Munich. He lived in Düsseldorf between 1866 and 1888 and then moved back to Munich, where he spent the last decades of his life. He travelled frequently to the Netherlands. His lyrical landscapes followed the traditions of the French paysage intime.
