A néző önkéntelenül is a vándor szemével látja az erdőt, szinte érzi, ahogy a fények, a színek, az illatok átjárják a lombokat, még ha a festőt megihlető pillanat óta több emberöltő telt is el. Gondolatban a tájakat gyakran összekapcsoljuk az ott élő emberek életformájával, világlátásával. Akkor is érezzük ezt a kapcsolatot, ha ők nem jelennek meg a képeken. / Mi, akik a Dunakanyartól az Alföld felé nyíló területen élünk, talán kivételes helyzetben vagyunk, mivel a táj változatos formákban bővelkedik errefelé. Jóformán a teljességet képezi le ez a kis világ. Mégis, gazdagodunk azáltal, ha eljönnek hozzánk egy távoli táj követei, a franciaországi Barbizon környékén festett képek. Egykor magyarországi művészeket is vonzott ez a különös atmoszférájú hely. Előttük is tisztelgünk, amikor együtt mutatjuk be műveiket a franciaországi mesterekéivel. / Most nem a festők keltek útra, hogy találkozzanak egymással, hanem képeik kerülnek újra egymás mellé. Ez is egyfajta párbeszéd: a festmények együttesen hordozzák itt az adott kor és művészi látásmód üzenetét. A Ferenczy Múzeum, mely befogadja őket, Szentendrén, olyan városban működik, ahol a francia ihletésű tájfestészetnek hagyománya van. / Az ember önmagát, múltját mindig tájak vonzásában képzeli el, azokhoz kötődve érezheti Le paysage arrache une partie d'un lieu et d'un moment, mais conserve malgré tout quelque chose de l'infini de la nature. Les yeux vagabonds du spectateur perçoivent même malgré eux la forêt, la ressentent presque, alors que lumières, couleurs et parfums traversent les feuillages, et cela même si plusieurs générations se sont écoulées depuis le moment qui a inspiré le peintre. En pensée nous relions souvent les paysages à la forme de vie et à la vision du monde des hommes qui y ont vécu. Alors nous sentons à notre tour ce lien même si eux ne l'ont pas manifesté dans leurs tableaux. } Nous, qui vivons dans la région s'étendant de la courbe du Danube à l'orée de la Grande Plaine, nous jouissons peut-être d'une situation exceptionnelle en ce que le paysage par ici abonde en formes changeantes. Tout est pour ainsi dire donné à voir par ce petit monde. Mais nous en sommes tout de même enrichis lorsque viennent chez nous des émissaires des paysages lointains, les tableaux peints dans les environs de la Barbizon française. Jadis les artistes hongrois furent eux aussi attirés par ce lieu à l'atmosphère particulière. Nous les saluons eux aussi en exposant ensemble leurs œuvres avec celles de leurs maîtres français. / Aujourd'hui ce ne sont plus les peintres qui se mettent en route pour se rencontrer mais leurs tableaux qui se retrouvent à nouveau ensemble. C'est même une sorte de dialogue : les peintures acheminent ensemble ici le message d'une époque et d'une conception arLandscape paintings take a section out of space and time but still preserve something of the limitlessness of nature. The viewer spontaneously sees the forest with the eye of the wanderer and almost feels how the lights, colours and smells permeate the foliage, even though several generations have passed since the moment that inspired the painter. Mentally, one often connects landscapes with the way of life and the views of the people living there. One feels this connection even if the people do not appear in the paintings. / We who live in the region stretching from the Danube Bend • to the Great Hungarian Plain may be in an exceptional position since the landscape is rich in various forms. We have almost the full range of possible landscapes. Nevertheless, we are enriched when visited by the ambassadors of faraway regions - the paintings painted in the vicinity of Barbizon in France. Hungarian artists were once drawn to this place with a special atmosphere. We honour them too, when we display their paintings next to those of the French masters. / This time, it is not the painters who have set out to meet each other, but rather their paintings that have again come next to each other. This is also a kind of dialogue: the paintings put on display together carry the message and artistic view of their age. The Ferenczy Museum, which has given them a temporary home in Szentendre, is located in a town where FrenchKözeledő tájak j Le trait d'union du paysage j Approaching landscapes 11
