A szentendrei Ferenczy Múzeum egyik legfontosabb feladata a város művészetének megőrzése. A névadó Ferenczy Károly és gyermekei, majd a Szentendrei Festők városára hagyó művészek emlékmúzeumokban bemutatott életművei mind ezt reprezentálják. Kiemelkedő helyet foglal el közöttük Bálint Endre, akinek alkotásai közül nem kevés található a Ferenczy Múzeum gyűjteményében. Festményei több alkalommal szerepeltek kiállításokon, így tavaly a Nemzeti Galériabeli életmütárlaton is. A jelen tárlaton kései műveinek közelmúltban megszerzett együttesét ismerheti meg a közönség. Bálint életének utolsó öt évében születtek a most bemutatott montázsok, amelyeket a múzeum a művész fiától vásárolt meg 2010-ben. Ezzel lehetővé vált a főként magángyűjteményekben, valamint néhány közgyűjteményben őrzött montázsok egy jelentős csoportjának megszerzése, ám mivel a megőrzés csak egy a múzeumi alapfeladatok közül, a bemutatás, és a Nemzeti Kulturális Alap támogatásának eredményeképpen végre a közzététel is megtörtént. Károly Ferenczy, the painter giving the name to the museum, his children, the Society of Szentendre Painters, the circle of Vajda and Korniss, the European School, the artists leaving their works to the town displayed in memorial museums, all represent this. An outstanding place is due to Endre Bálint from among them, and several of his works are preserved in the collection of the Ferenczy Museum. His paintings were staged on different exhibitions, like the one dedicated to him last year in the Hungarian National Gallery. The present display offers a knowledge of a group of his late works acquired lately. The montages were made in the last five years of Bálint’s life, and were purchased from his son in 2010. The acquisition of the montages, many of them preserved mainly in private collections and in a few public institutions was an important point in the history of the museum, whose basic task is not only preservation, but also display and finally publication, resulted by this catalogue sponsored by the National Cultural Fund.
