Nagy Péter: „Telepiek, falusiak” és bejárók - A (borsod)nádasdi vasgyár társadalma a kezdetektől az államosításig

PETER NAGY ,PEOPLE OF THE COLONY AND VILLAGE’ AND COMMUTERS THE SOCIETY OF THE RSV INC.’S IRONWORKS IN BORSODNÁDASD In 1864 the RV Association founded its ironworks in Borsodnádasd, which considerably transformed the local society. Although they had dealt with mining earlier in the area, nevertheless the foundation of the factory contributed more significantly to the industrialisation of the settlement and its direct surroundings. The skilled workers and officials arrived from outside, for whom housing estates were established in Borsodnádasd. Besides the residents of the former village also got involved in the industrial works. Getting the ,Borsod’ prefix in the meantime, this way the settlement’s unique world came into existence, still today which consists of two well distinguishable parts, the ,Village’ and the ,Colony’. Lots of people also commuted to work from the neighbouring villages, who also did not give up their previous work, the agriculture either. In my monograph the society of the ironworks is going to be introduced from the beginnings to the deprivatisation. 69
