ELEMENTS OF THE TRADITIONAL COSTUMES OF KALMAN MIKSZATH’S , JÓ PALÓCOK”

In our study we are dissecting the traditional costumes, phrases, expressions apper- ing in the novel of Kalman Mikszath’s; the: A jo palocok’ - on one hand as ethnographical resource and on the other hand the roles of all the above in the plot of the novel; within the role’s of the characters as individuals and also within the community. Our intent is the ethnographical exhibition and interpretation of the novels — based on the garments appearing in the writings. The specific use of the traditional costumes during various occasions within the lifetime of the characters will be covered in the study - the symbolism of the traditional attirements in the novels and their role within the persons’ and community’s lives. The study is analyzing the relations of clothing pieces to each other in several different novels, as well as the role of these costumes within the plot. The primary project is to summarise the currently published data and conclusions; over and above to add to the subject’s professional elaboration by reseraching from mutliple angles.
