Late Middle and Upper Palaeolithic unstratified finds from Hont-Babat (NE-Hungary) by Krisztián Zandler

in our present paper we describe two unstratified palaeolithic finds from Hont- Babat. The first collection was gatherd by the Gábori couple in the ’50-es. It contains mostly uni- and bipolar blade cores made off Gerecse type radiolarites. We could connect this material to the Late Upper Palaeolithic Epigravettian culture.

The second collection was gathered by András Markó, Attila Péntek and the author in 2002. It contains a few end-scraper on blades, burins and retouched flakes made off local hydro quartzite. We could connect that material to the Late Middle Palaeolithic Szeletian or Early Upper Palaeolithic Aurignacian cultures.
