The Formation and Development of ’Rima’ Identity at the Steelworks Colony in Salgótarján by Réka Nickel

As part of the employee policy of the capitalist large company founded in the 19th century the local identity of the multinational population settled on the closed area was connected first to the factory and only later to the settlement. On the basis of the investigations it became undoubtedly clear that an industrial colony with a mixture of nationalities and artificial top-down created identity could have such a significant culture forming power under given circumstances as a peasant community developing in a natural way in the course of centuries.
