Limax Trichia Klikia Helicigona Tropidomphalus The importance of the fossil material is remarkable because it is the only microvertebrata fauna ever found in a „cross-bedded sand", which is otherwise a very characteristic and widely distributed sédiment of the Hungárián Late Neogene. SYSTEMATIC DESCRIPTIONS Classis: Mammalia Linnaeus 1735 Order: Insectivora Bowdich 1821 Family: Erinaceidae Bonaparte 1838 Erinaceidae gen. There are 1 right humérus (no. inv.: 95.170), 1 right ulna (95.171) 1 left maxilla (95.172) 1 left upper premolar (95.204) and 1 left lower molar (95.205) fragments in the material. The distal articularion of the humérus and the proximal one of the ulna suit perfectly, so they might hâve belong to the same individual. Family: Talpidae Fischer von Waldheim 1817 Talpidae gen. There are fragments of 1 humérus (95.173), 3 ulnae (95.174, 95.175, 95.176), 1 mandibula (95.177), 6 antemolars (95.178, 95.179, 95.180, 95.181, 95.182, 95.183), 4 molars (95.184, 95.185, 95.186, 95.187). The erinaceid and talpid material need more élaboration. Family: Soricidae Gray 1821 Unfortunately the Egyházasdengeleg shrew material is not rieh and well preserved: only 16 fragmentary teeth hâve been found there. These spécimens belong to three species: Petenyia cf. hungarica Kormos 1934, Blarinella cf. dubia (Bachmayer et Wilson) 1970 and Amblycoptus oligodon Kormos 1926. Nevertheless the particularity of this material is that thèse remains supplied new additions for determining the stratigraphie position of the Egyházasdengeleg locality. Measurements and nomenclature are after Reumer (1984). Dimensions are in mm.
