Unsere Studie verfolgt die historischen Ereignisse des frühneuzeitlichen Geschichte der Domäne, vor allem die Eigentümer-Wechsel des 16. und 17. Jahrhunderts.

In dieser Zeitspanne ging die Burg mit ihren Gütern von den einstigen Eigentümer der Familie Dóczi in die Hände des Königs über. Der verschuldete König Maximilian musste die Burg an seinen eigenen Gläubigern, Pál Rubigal verpachten. Danach kennen wir weitere Pächter, die die Domäne verwalteten, wie z.B. Gaspar Tribel mit bürgerlicher Abstammung aus Neusohl oder die Familie Széchy.

Die letzten bedeutungsvollen Eigentümer der Burg waren Mária von Széchy und ihr Mann der ungarische Palatin Ferenc Wesselényi. Nach dem Tod von Wesselényi und als Folge der von ihm geleiteten Verschwörung gegen den König ging die Burg mit ihren Gütern ins staatliche Eigentum über und geriet unter der Obhut der Bergkammer von Neusohl.

Questions of Possession of the Slovenska Lupca Castle Estate in the 16—17th Centuries By Oto Tomeéek

The castle of Lupca was the centre of the estate situated in the Zvolen coomb in the north-eastern part near the city Banská Bystrica. The castle was built probably just before mid-13th century.

In the following period the area surrounding the castle started to develop gradually. In the course of the Middle Ages the Lupca castle estate developed, which can be found between Banská Bystrica and Brezno.

This study pays attention to changes in ownership mainly during the early modern age, that is 16-17th centuries.

In this period the castle with the whole estate was transferred from the possession of the Dóczy family to the King.

However, the indebted King Maximilian finally leased it out to his creditor Pál Rubigal. Later it got into the hands of other tenants, like Gáspár Tribel burgess from Banská Bystrica and the Széchy family.

The last major owners of the castle were Mária Széchy and her husband, the Hungarian Palatine Ferenc Wesselényi. Right after Wesselényid death and revealing the plot led by him, the castle and the whole estate were confiscated by the state and became controlled by the Banská Bystrica Chamber of Mining.
