However, the Persian (or the in the campaign participating Ionic) military intelligence did not consider it necessary to consult with the Ionic geographers about their observations. According to the author, this can explain why the geographers, who also took theoretical considerations into account, located their descriptions about the Danube’s region (Danuvius=Tanais) to the far eastern regions (III-IV. problem).

As a conclusion of the study, the author attempts to reconstruct a possible version of the Persian campaign.
