Schmidtmayer Richárd: A vértesi várak "valódi" urai az 1440-es években

A VÉRTESI VÁRAK „VALÓDI" URAI AZ 1440-ES ÉVEKBEN have donated a few number of villages. From the begining of 1444 John Jr. lost its influence over all the castles. These weren’t want only by neighboring landowners, as the powerful Nicholas/Miklós Újlaki, but by the distant members of the Rozgonyi family to. It showed the weakness of John Jr. that - perhaps with a support of other stark nobles - even a former castellans were able to occupying a castle and a few number of possession. In 1446, when he tried to sort out the situation legitimately, the castles Tata, Vitány and Csókakő would be divided between him and the distant relatives together. Interesting, Gesztes castle remained by Miklós Újlaki, and it didn’t bother anybody. In the following years, John Jr. tried to hold at least one castle alone. This suceeded him, trough various agreements in which was declarated that castle Csókakő their own. Perhaps this was important for John Jr., because knowing the experience of the previous years, he could easily lose the common assets. The distant relatives haven’t given up the hope to get all of the region’s castles, and finaly found a legal possibility on the basis of which they were the sole owners of the castles: they citing a juristical procedural failure/error! So they could enforced a judgment and the castles Tata, Vitány and Csókakő were given to all the sistant relatives legally in the spring of 1449. John Jr. was trying to keep two castles Vitány and Csókakő force. The latter eventually - however illegally - was able to save until his death, but then these castles of the Vértes Mountains were lost to his children forever.
