Die Fotografie ist eine wichtige Quelle zur Erforschung der Tätigkeit der örtlichen Fotografen. Das Material im Fotoarchiv trägt in erster Linie historischen Charakter, als Ergebnis der Sammlung nach inhaltlichen Gesichtspunkten, es wird aber immer mehr danach getrachtet, mehr fotohistorisches Material zu sammeln. Diese Studie beschäftigt sich mit dem Lebenswerk der Schöpfer der im Archiv aufbewahrten Aufnahmen, macht diese bekannt und analysiert deren wichtigste Werke. Es wird vorwiegend die Tätigkeit der Fotografen aus Tatabánya untersucht, de ihre Bilder den Grossteil der Sammlung ausmachen, daneben wird aber auch die Tätigkeit der Fotografen aus Tata, Komárom und Esztergom beleuchtet. Nur die Fotografen des Komitates werden erwähnt, die ein eigenes Atelier besassen, und die, aus deren Atelier das Museum ein oder mehrere Exemplare besitzt. Auf Vollständigkeit wurde hier nicht geachtet, da die Aufarbeitung des fotohistorischen Materials erst in den Anfängen steckt. Molnár 150 years ago Daguerre discovered the first usable photographic procedure. Ever since photography gained a more and more important role. As to its independent museum-piece character, nowadays nobody can deny it. In our days a museum is inimaginable without a collection of photography. One of the richest collections of Tatabánya's Museum are the photo archives. It contains over 10.000 old and valuable pieces. The collection is formed of portraits, albums, groups, conversation pieces reports, buildings and landscapes, sociographyc photoes. They are completed by a rich collection of postcards. The photoes surve as important sources for revealing the activity of the local photographers. Primordially the material has a historic character. It is the result of a collecting activity linked to subject-matters, but it also endeavours to collect such materials that are linked to the history of photography. The study deals with the career of those photographers whose photoes can be found in the collection, as well as it presents and analyses the most significant pieces of the collection. It basically analyses the activity of Tatabánya's photographers because their works are in majority in the collection, but it also concerns the activity of the photographers from Tata, Komárom and Esztergom. It deals with only those photographers who had studios and within this only with those ones who have one or more pieces in the collection of the museum. Even so the author could not give a complete picture because the working up of this collection is only at the very begining. 131
