Among the men from Nagykörös who fought in the Great War, Vilmos Antal suffered Russian captivity. His rich bequest, in which can be found military equipment and relics of the world war, found their way to the museum in 1996. A metal bull, a relic of the interwar revisionist movement, is also from the bequest of Vilmos Antal. The ornamental trumpet with the municipal crest was made for the army's artillery division stationed in Nagykörös. The silk flag of the Nagykörös Manufacturers' Circle Choir and the flag of the Nagykörös Workers' Sports Club from 1947 are treasured possessions of the flag collection. Among other items in the collection recalling the 1950s and 1960s are a Party badge, a pupil's cap, a pioneer (boy-cub) tie, a variety of distinctions, an Orion table radio and a fizzy drink bottle with a ceramic stopper. At this time Nagykörös was famous for its cannery. After the factory was closed down the extremely important industrial history collection found its way to the János Arany Museum. The memory of this factory, which in its day was of European fame, is maintained through many valuable objects. The museum's collection of historic objects preserves and through exhibitions presents the rich past of Nagykörös and the surrounding area.
