The first ancestor of the family of some renown turned up as an educated person holding an office and being of some social rank after the expulsion of the Turks at the turn of the 18th century, at the same place and time as the Grassalkovich family. Sámuel Blaskovich, on the other hand, opted for the labanc forces, which seemed to be reasonable as his office was situated in Esztergom, a town which was only for a short period under kuruc control. His loyalty to the Emperor is certified by a document, written on 29
