Myths, Mistakes in the local history of Szolnok town

Historiography and the interest in history are thousands of years old. During this time the theory and the practice of historical research has changed a lot. Unfortunately despite the development of this science - otherwise inevitably - a number of conclusions remain in the average person's mind, which have not already been stated by the scientific community. In this regard the local historical research is no exception too, for which the evaluation of the national or international processes are irrelevant. For reasons of brevity we only deal with a few but particularly annoying errors, and the problems relating to them in hope of improvement. These are: 1. Was there a clan named Szolnok among the conquering Hungarians? 2. Which is the oldest bridge in county Jász- Nagykun-Szolnok and in the Tisa region? 3. Could have been Brankovics György the landowner of Szolnok? 4. Was there a significant class of cattle merchants in Szolnok during the Ottoman period? 5. Was the Turkish rule the period of development in county Jász-Nagykun? 6. How many Szolnok Castle was built in the 16th-19th century? 7.
