vendégszereplése minden bizonnyal elmaradt. A tiszafüredi hetilapban ugyanis 1914. július 16. után nem szerepel többször labdarúgással, illetve a helybeli csapattal kapcsolatos híradás. Ebben minden bizonnyal az is közrejátszott, hogy alig két héttel később kitört az I. világháború.

Ezt követően évekig nem tudunk semmit a Tiszafüredi Torna Club működéséről. Az egyesület újjászervezése minden bizonnyal csak a háborút követően vette kezdetét.

The first years of the Tiszafüred Gymnastic Club

There are numerous settlements in the country where the local sports club can boast at least one hundred years’ history. One of the most characteristic features of the early years of physical training was that football was a game of civic nature, which also meant self-financing. The clubs of the era came to existence as civilian initiatives headed by the respected representatives of the local public and economic life.

The first introductory football match was played in May, 1913 in Tiszafüred, which was soon followed by the official establishment of the local football club. The constitution of the Tiszafüred Gymnastic Club was worded on 10th August, 1913 and was approved in the same year. The youth of Füred in the beginning played matches among themselves, then soon they hosted clubs from Eger and Debrecen. Despite the original successes, it seems that initially the game did not have sufficient support. At the beginning of 1914, they started work again with great enthusiasm and set out ambitious plans. Apart from football, they attempted to introduce other sports too. However, in the middle of 1914 they chose so strong opponents that failures followed failures. In these circumstances it soon became clear that the local conditions of the game were rather insufficient. The outbreak of World War One also interfered, so the football life in Tiszafüred temporarily overshadowed.
