Régészet - Cseh János: Középső és késő vaskori (szkíta és kelta) települések nyomai Kengyel–Baghymajor mellett – Kengyelpart I.

Tisicum XVIII. János Cseh Vestiges of settlements from the Middle and Late Iron Ages on the site Kengyelpart I near Kengyel-Baghymajor (resume) The author publishes the settlement findings originating in the Scythian and Celtic periods (6th-5th and 3rd-2nd centuries B.C.), which came to light during the archaeological excavations between 1991 and 1995. Two features - objects F and I - undoubtedly belong to the earlier age, the former of them was perhaps a pit-house. The wheel-thrown and hand-made pottery objects mostly include bowls with inverted rims, barrel-shaped pots e.g. with knobs, as well as a strainer (percolator/colander). An iron knife was also found. In the fields of Kengyel, this is the only Scythian settlement discovered so far. The Middle La Téne archaeological finds are stray ones: among them predominantly wheel-turned wares, bowls, pots with D-rim (situlae), graphited ceramic appearance. Besides a shard decorated by stamping in, which used to be dated by the research from the turn of the Early (-Middle) La Téne periods. Its analogies are to be found westwards along the Danube. In the region of the Middle-Tisza and Zagyva rivers, the author has gathered six stamped Celtic vessels altogether from five sites. The Kengyel find renders this group more numerous and varied.
