Régészettudomány the site. The research potential of this collection is great when factors such as technological trends, manufacturing techniques, use wear and potential cultural implications are taken into account. These inventories of worked bone from two Middle Bronze Age Northeastern Hungarian sites may be compared in order to examine the differential use of raw material between sites with similar environmental resources. Although the sites are contemporaneous and spatially in close proximity, the presence and absence of bone tool types may indicate different industries and bone crafting knowledge at the site level. For example, worked pig fibulae are only present in the Kisterenye-Hársas material which may indicate a preference for this species when manufacturing pointed tools or a greater abundance of pig bone material. Differing taphonomic factors such as excavation techniques must also be considered in the comparison of these collections. Further comparison with sites of this period from Hungarian studies may yield information concerning the spread of bone tool manufacturing knowledge as well as implications of cultural and individual identity related to the artefacts.
