NÓGRÁDI, S.: Slovakian Trichoptera data from two Hungarian collections

Slovakian Trichoptera data from two Hungarian collections NÓGRÁDI U. Sára Pélcs, Janus Pannonius Museum ABSTRACT: The collection of Hungarian Natural History Museum and Lajos Kossuth University, Debrecen, contains 62 caddisfly species from Slovakia. The bulk of material was collected before the First World War alongside the river Váh CVag), around town Trencin. The basic list of NOVAK and OBR (1977) contains 211 Trichoptera species from Slovakia. Some years ago 78 Trichoptera species were published by NÓGRÁDI and UHERKOVICH (1987) from their own collection. This large material counting 4302 species derived from 37 localities of Middle Slovakia CSlovakian Ore Mountains, the Lower and High Tatras and Slovakian Paradise) and obtained during 7 collecting trips. In the years 1987 and 1988 the caddisfly material of two Hungarian collections was checked and redetermined. One of them was the collection of the Zoological Institute of Lajos Kossuth University, Debrecen. This collection transferred as a grant to Janus Pannonius Museum, Pécs, in 1988. The material of about one thousand caddisflies has been mostly determined. This caddisfly material was collected by J. SÁTORI in the thirties and by J. OLÁH in the sixties. Several Slovakian specimens are deposited in it. They were taken byJ. OLÁH in 1963 in the Slovakian Paradise, around Muráfi and Zadiel. The Trichoptera collection of Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest, contains a few hundred specimens from Slovakia. These were collected before the First World War by S. Pazsicz'ky, along the Valley of Váh CVág) River. Some later specimens are also deposited by other collectors. On the label local names are given occasionally attempts have been made to identify recently acquired names. In the list the original name is presented, but we give its Slovakian name, and, to help easier geographical localization, its UTM grid reference, too.
