Locality I 4 250 m away from the waterfall (Fig. 5.): The valley is widening out, the water runs over large stones and rapids between the rocky stream walls. This reach of the stream is sunlit, the vegetation on the banks is rich (Urtica dioica, Petasitetum hybridi, Euphorbia cyparissias). The depth of the water is 4—5 cm, at some places varies between 15—20 cm. Water temperature was 14.5 °C on 18th July, 1977 and 7.4 °C on 2nd Oct., 1977. The species collected there include : Rhyacophila polonica NAC LACHLAN, B. obliterata MAC LACHLAN, Polycentropus flavomaculatus PICTET, Agapetus comatus PICTET, Plectrocnemia conspersa CURTIS, Hydropsyche angustipennis CURTIS, Hydropsyche instabilis CURTIS, Beraemyia hrabei MAYER, Odon­tocerum albicorne SCOPOLI, Halesus digitatus SCHRANK, Potamophylax latipennis CURTIS, Sericostoma personatum PENCE and Silo pallipes FABR. 119
