Befejezésül régi kedves ismerőse, Egres Béla újságíró hasonló szép gondolatait idézném nekrológjából: Vannak olyan emberek, akik valahogy mindörökre beletartoznak egy-egy közösség, egy-egy város életébe, leikébe. Mintha öröktől fogva köztünk jártak volna, s mindörökkön velünk is maradnak... lényük beleivódik az utcák macskaköveibe, a házakfalába, a vár bástyáiba, a pincék boltíveibe ... .az emberekbe, ... .s vannak olyanok, akik nemcsak egy település részét képezik, de ott vannak az apró falvak házainak tornácán, homlokzatán, meg a falu közepén álló templom messzelátó tornyában. Dr. Bakó Ferenc ilyen... Nem búcsúzunk hát Feri bácsitól, hisz bármerre járunk is újra és újra találkozunk majd, ...a múzeumban, ... egy-egy kiállításon, a könyvtárban ...no meg itt marad velünk könyveiben, amiket bármikor levehetünk a polcról. Találkozunk Feri bácsi f Bakó Zsuzsanna MEMORIES OF MY FATHER The aim of this paper is to share some lesser known details from my Father’s life, in addition to his elaborate and very well documented biography, a much appreciated work of his fellow ethnographers. I chose to describe the events in chronological order to help the readers. In the chapter entitled A kezdetek és a katonaévek (The Beginnings and Years of Military Service) I write about the period after his graduation from university and the time spent in military service, from his conscription up to his stay in Germany in a prisoner-of-war camp. The chapter entitled A hazatérés (Returning Home) describes the period between 1947 and 1950, including the difficulties and uncertainties of the years spent in Budapest. The section Sárospatak 1950-52 focuses on his work as a museum director and my memories of those years, followed by Eger, Buttler-ház 1952-57 (Eger, Buttler House) which was the time of establishing and organising the museum in Eger, complete with stories by Ferenc Legányi, Mária Sándor and others, as well as my memories of the lime-kiln workers. In the next chapter entitled A várba való felköltözés (Moving to the Castle) 1 describe the period when the museum was expanded and improved, new exhibitions were opened, visitor numbers increased and I also share my personal memories of the ethnographic field trips, visits to Felsőtárkány and Noszvaj, as well as some memorable relationships. The chapter called A múzeum és az életünk (The Museum and Our Live) is about our social life, visitors to our home, acquaintances, professional exp eriences, while the chapter Eger és O (Eger and He) describes his close ties to the town, his teachers and classmates in the Cistercian secondary school, his role in public life, publications, awards, recognition and legacy. 169
