Preservation of the material and spiritual heritage of museums and their presentation as widely as possible is one of the most important tasks nowadays. The museum as a special location provides an excellent background for fun- based, entertaining learning and knowledge acquisition. Identifying and exploiting this also gave rise to the museum education programme titled “I'm small..

The Somogy County village children’s world is show-cased in the programme. The complexity of knowledge dissemination is made up of several matters. On the one hand the facilities provided by the museum medium: knowledge acquisition with the aid of the exhibits, “tangible” objects turning up from the ethnographic collection store-room. On the other hand parts of the programme based on interactivity: getting to know and play popular games, selected from the collection of Ferenc Gönczi’s Somogy County games collection, and manuality based activity, instrumental children’s game making.
