Hír János: Miocén aprógerinces leletek Egerszólát környékéről

János Hír Miocene microvertebrate finds from the vicinity of Egerszólát During the paleontological field activity in the Ádám Valley close to Egerszólát village a mollusc fauna was found with 13 taxa and a leporid and rodent assemblage with 6 taxa. It is the first fauna collected by washing and screening from the „terrestric Sarmatian" sediment complex which was mapped in the surroundings of Egerbakta, Egerszólát, Egerszalók villages. Referring to the opinion of József Kókay the mollusc fauna is referable to the late Sarmatian. The vertebrate species of the Egerszólát fauna were described from the faunae of Felsőtárkány „Güdör-kert" as well. A high resolution chronological classification is not possible after the microvertebrata because a late Sarmatian (refers to MN 7/8 zone in the continental stratigraphy) or early Pannonian (MN 9 zone) stratigrpahical positions are equally possible. However considerable chronological difference between the sediments of the Felsőtárkány „Güdör-kert" and the Ádám Valley at Egerszólát is not probable. After the microvertebrate we can presume a humid paleoclimate and a forested paleoenvironment with closed canopy. 71
