Földessy Mariann - Veres Gábor: Fűköh Levente 60 éves
Mariann Földessy - Gábor Veres Levente Fűköh is 60 years old His mother was a primary school teacher, his father was a history teacher, so he became interested in history in the parental home; his interest in biology and paleontology was supported by the excitement of the quest, uncovering and discovery of fossils on his children's playground - the "forbidden ground" -, the mining spoils around Ózd, which became a devotion in his high-school years. He studied biology and chemistry on the Faculty of Natural Sciences at the Kossuth Lajos University of Debrecen from 1971, where he had a special course in paleontology. After graduating, in 1976, he joined Heves County Museum Organization in Eger, the István Dobó Castle Museum, where he curated the palaeontological collection. As a museum department manager in Eger (1979), his work included public cultural issues as well. During this period he participated in the creation of a number of temporary exhibitions. His work continued from 1985 in the Matra Museum, Gyöngyös, as the head of the institution. His main goal was to separate collections according to fields, a natural-scientific identity design. Developing storage facilities and increasing the number of scientists were manifestations of the responsibility for the collection. He became a holder of the 'candidate'-status in 1993 and, and he received PhD degree at the Kossuth Lajos University in 1995. He became Dr habilis in 2001, He received the title of lecturer at the University of Debrecen in 2003, and at the Esterházy Károly College in 2004. In the 26 years spent at the museum, beyond scientific work, a number of temporary and traveling exhibitions, there were three major permanent exhibitions associated with his name. Besides carrying out scientific work he has a role in its organizing as well. He has been the founding editor of the Malacological Newsletters for 29 years, which has become a regularly published, internationally accepted journal of the Hungarian malacology by now. He is involved inthe international publishing and distribution works of the Folia Historico-naturialia Musei Matraensis as publisher and lector. Probably his most significant activity is the envisage and realization of the full reconstruction works of the Matra Museum. 13
