Tivadar Petercsák Greetings on the Occasion of Edit Cs. Schwalm's 60th Birthday The introductory study of this museum yearbook is dedicated to the deputy director of the Heves County Museum Service and ethnographical researcher Edit Cs. Schwalm. Having graduated from the University of Debrecen she started work at the István Dobó Castle Museum in Eger in 1970. As a museologist she collected many hundreds of artefacts, and organised exhibitions both at home and abroad. Although her research focused mainly on Heves County, she also examined eating habits, rural society and folk art within the Palóc ethnographic group. She took part in the study of the village of Visonta, the complex examination of the Palóc ethnic group and the "Tradition and Survival" research project. A list of all her published works can be found at the end of this volume. Edit Cs. Schwalm regularly helped those participating in the amateur folk art movement, ensuring that embroidery, weaving and woodcarving respected folk art traditions. She has been teaching ethnography at Károly Eszterházy College since 1979. In this volume Hungarian museologists have contributed studies in honour of Edit Cs. Schwalm on the occasion of her 60
