Guba Szilvia: Egy summásgazda naplója 1936-ból

Szilvia Guba A Seasonal Labourer's Diary from the Year 1936 A large number of peasant writings, autobiographies, reflections have made their way into the ethnographic collections of Hungary's museums. Apart from the cataloguing and publishing of source materials a number of monographs and study volumes have also appeared on the topic. The present study, an extended version of a passage taken from an altogether larger survey, also contains supplementary materials and additions. The diary was that of János Guba, Mezőkövesd furrier and seasonal labourer, recording the events of 1936, when he worked on the Habsburg Archduke's estates in Moson County. The accompanying notes were made with the help of the oral testaments and reminiscences of surviving members of the family, all of which help to provide an account of the everyday lives of the writer and his family both at home and away from it. Thus, the analysis of the seasonal labourer's diary is made all the more complete by an account of the family history. 312
