Finnországban, Németországban, Franciaországban, Ausztriában, Szlovákiában és Lengyelországban mutattunk be ilyen összetételű kiállítást. A Dobó István Vármúzeumnak egy állandó néprajzi kiállítása van Egerben, a Dobó u. 12. szám alatt: Palóc népművészet. Bár elég kicsi a kiállítótér alapterülete, itt is bemutatjuk, hogyan él tovább a tradicionális népművészet. A Hevesi Népművészeti és Háziipari Szövetkezet Népművészet Mesterei és néhány népi iparművész mellett két viselettervező, a Népművészet Ifjú Mestere munkája kapott helyet. Népi iparművészeti gyűjteményünket a Tradíció és továbbélés с kutatási program keretén belül is szeretnénk tovább gyarapítani. Edit Cs. Schwalm The Museum's Rôle in the Folk Art Design Process Over the last half a century it has been the folk applied arts which have preserved and fostered the heritage of traditional folk art. While the courses put on both in and out of school have allowed recent generations to acquire the necessary technical skills, people have also been able to become familiar with the original folk objects themselves in both books and at exhibitions. For those wishing to design objects in the folk art spirit, museum collections and museologists can be of considerable help in a number of fields, whether by putting on folk art exhibitions; allowing the objects currently in storage to be inspected; acquainting people with ethnographic databases, pattern collections and archive photographs; the creation of folk art archives, the making of video films on folk art topics and the giving of ethnographic lectures. One section of the ethnographic collection at the István Dobó Castle Museum contains examples of the folk applied arts, a considerable number of which are the work of those working in the county, some of whom are still active. 384
