Petercsák Tivadar: A tárgyalkotó népművészet Heves megyei örökségének feltárása és mai hasznosítása

Tivadar Petercsák The Discovery and Current Application of Heves County's Folk Heritage The Heves County Museum Service's István Dobó Castle Museum is currently engaged in a long-term research project into the county's folk heritage with the support of the Ministry of Education and the Heves County Council. This paper attempts to provide a progress report. Firstly, within the framework of the project we have located all the objects we have in our possession and put them on a computer database. Selected items have also been put on display. A book providing an overview of the material with the title "Folk Art In Heves County" is due to be published in the near future. We are examining and documenting the process in which contemporary folk art and the folk applied arts based on the traditional folk arts came into being in Heves County during the course of the second half of the 20th century. Apart from the availability of data and artefacts associated with the active practioners of today recorded both in archive material and video footage, visitors can enjoy the finest examples of the folk applied arts at the exhibition at the István Dobó Castle Museum. The lectures at the "Tradition and Survival" Conference looked at the possibilities currently open to those wishing to use traditional methods, while examining the ways in which museums and folk applied artists work together and how initial and advanced training takes place. 372
