SIEGE AND CAPITULATION OF EGER “KURUC” (PRINCE FRANCIS II RÁKÓCZI’S PRIVATE ARMY) 1703-1705

In my work I have endeavoured, beside Szántó Imre and Sugár István’s history of the former kuruc in Eger, in connection with the siege to reinterpret the findings and complement them where necessary. So I therefore have tried to raise three problems from the latest research results, (using mostly the work of András Oross) and so far as to bring to light the historical writings and material archived in Vienna. I believe that the latter may be a new path of researching Hungarian Rákóczi, as the Emperor’s inside information, and to the issued instructions that partially shade significantly our knowledge of the events in these towns.
