Új állandó kiállítóhely és konferenciaterem az egri vár Dobó-bástyájában

A NEW PERMANENT DISPLAY AREA AND CONFERENCE ROOM IN THE DOBÓ BASTION OF EGER CASTLE The external and internal reconstruction of the Dobó Bastion, built in the 16th century by the famous captain of the Eger Castle, István Dobó, means there are now new facilities and opportunities for the exhibitions and other cultural-educational events of the castle museum. The 50-60,000 year-old tufa rock with natural cavities create a unique atmosphere on the two exhibition areas (700 m2), where a new exhibition hall is being built with the financial support of the Alfa Programme launched by the Ministry of Cultural Heritage. The exhibition called “The weapons of the world - the world of weapons” is to be opened in 2005, but it is still awaitings the second instalment of the 80 million HUF-project from this year’s application. The interactive show representing weapons from 60 countries around the world and the complementary history-focused events are certainly considerable public attractions. The conference room with the adjacent workshops as well as the terrace on the third level of the bastion can host a number of scientific, educational or tourist events. 208
