AL COLLOQUY OF THE ViriTH CONGRESS OF UNITAS MALACOLOGICA IN BUDAPEST /29. AUGUST, 1983./ Abstract : The claim of a better contact between the recent malacology and malacology dealing with palaecntological material has been announced several times on internati onal malacological congresses. This promo ted the organisation of a colloquy called "Quartermalacology and fauna history" in frames of the Vlllth International Malaco logical Congress in Budapest. The program of the colloquy included 12 lectures, completed by two independent posters. One of the congress excursions /Vértesszöilös-Balaton/, visiting the fos sile and mainly Pleistocene mollusc fauna sites, corresponded to the topic, During the colloquy the researchers o the quartermalacology gave account of the ir results, called the attention of the recent malacologists to the problems of the quarternary fauna and the fauna histo ry, and also deepened their professional connections. The organisation of similar colloquys in the future seems to be expedient.
