Kéziratos források - Bényei József: Holló László naplója
JózsefBényei LÁSZLÓ HOLLO'S DIARY László Holló was a remarkable figure of 20th-century Hungarian painting. He created most of his oeuvre in Debrecen, but he was much more than simply a local painter; he was an outstanding figure of expressionism in Hungary. Despite the long decades of his self-imposed hiding and solitude - and later officially imposed concealment of his work - his Tócóskert home saw the births of unignorable works of art. The study describes the contents ofthe manuscripted booklet. The lined booklet bound in green canvas contains 92 pages. László Holló noted down various texts now regularly, now at irregular intervals between 1925-1965. Thus, the booklet is rather a notebook than a simple diary. It contains drafts of letters, recipes, glossaries, professional notes and confessions. Its most precious part is the unbroken diary text starting on 4 July, 1929, from which the study quotes several excerpts.
