telepet rejt. A felszínre került leletekből megállapítható, hogy a java neolitikum szilmegi csoportja élt és temetkezett területünkön. A leletek jellegzetesek: nagyszámú hólyagos dudor és vastag hombárfal, plasztikus lécdíszes cserép, vékonyfalú vörös és fekete csészék töredékei, oszlopos fogójú edényoldalak (vastagabb és finomabb változatban), obszidiánszilánkok, paticsdarabok, kagylók. Több okkerrel festett kiforgatott csontvázat is találtunk. A leletek a Déri Múzeumban vannak. SZEREP Csonkatorony. 1969-ben folytatódott az előző évben megkezdett gótikus templom és templom körüli temető feltárása. A kutatás során tisztázódott, hogy a románkori templomfal fundamentumának maradványait elhordták a bizonyosan tatárjárás alatti pusztulás után. így annak alaprajzát nem lehetett megállapítani. A templomhely mögötti dombtetőn kutatóárkokat húztunk és megtaláltuk a háromhajós románkori monostort. A kutatóárokba esett sírokat feltártuk, ezekben S-végű hajkarikákat és XII. századi pénzeket találtunk. A terület nagy fontosságú régészeti lelőhely, teljes feltárását tervezzük. Máthé THE ARCHEOLOGICAL ACTIVITY OF THE MUSEUMS IN HAJDÚ-BIHAR COUNTY IN THE YEARS 1969-1971 (A SURVEY OF FINDS) The survey of finds published in this paper, testifying to the intensive archeological activity of the Déri Museum, Debrecen, signals a considerable change this time. As is shown by title of the survey, the archeological research of the County in now conducted from two museums. By the appointment of a trained archeologist in the »Hajdúság Museum' at Hajdúböszörmény it has now become possible to have a more proportional distribution of field work and scientific personnel than has been the case heresofar. Our present report shows that the investigation of a number of find-spots was completed in the course of the previous three-year period and keeps us busy this year too. These are the following: Biharkeresztes - Nagy farkasdomb, Biharkeresztes - Kisfarkasdomb (Dacian-Sarmatian settlements and tombs from the 4th-5th centuries), and SzerepCsonkatorony (church and cemetery from the age of the Arpads). These will be uncovered in the following period, includig the present year the terrain inspection also went on during the past period partly concerning the corpus of the Magyar Conquest period and the age of the Arpads and partly the territorial survey of the one-time Hajdu-towns and also another undertaking to start in the next period concerning a Bronze Age settlement along the Berettyó river (Gáborján village and its district). Rescue excavations were conducted all over the County. Prehistoric age: neolithic finds were uncovered at Ebes, Hajdúböszörmény, Hajdúnánás, Hortobágy-Szásztelek, Mezőpeterd, Polgár-Csőszhalom, Polgár-Folyás, Sáp; Copper age: Hajdúszoboszló, HortobágySzásztelek; Bronze age: Álmosd, Debrecen, Egyek, Gáborján, Hajdúböszörmény, Nádudvar, Polgár, Püspökladány; Iron age: Álmosd, Körösszegapáti. Age of the Roman emperors: Ártánd, Balmazújváros, Ebes, Hajdúböszörmény, Hajdúnánás, Hajdúvid. Migration age: Biharkeresztes, Derecske. Age of the Arpads and the Middle Ages: Debrecen, DebrecenFancsika, Hajdúdorog, Hajdúnánás, Polgár, Szerep. A number of find-spots worth of terrain inspection are mentioned in the report. The majority of finds is the result of rescue excavations from places where various kinds of earthwork damaged the find-spots. It is to be hoped that in the next paper we shall be able to report on planned, large-scale excavations as well, i. e. on the results of Bronze age settlement investigations which are to commence soon, excavations connected with the Celtic corpus, the investigation of Dacian-Sarmatian cohabitation and the Sarmatian finds of the County, the localization of a number of 13th-14th century settlements know only from contemporary charters. 54
