THE 1867 PARIS WORLD EXPOSITION IN RÓMER’S TRAVEL RECORDS The 1867 Paris World Exposition was an event of great importance in Rómer’s scientific career as an archaeologist and museologist. During his stay in Paris he started and continued to build his widespread net of connections with the most prominent scholars of the world. His travel records are an excellent basis for ex­ploring this period of his foreign correspondence and the process of his inclusion into the most renowned archaeologists of this epoch. The enormous success of the 1876 Budapest Congress of the Prehistoric Archaeologists can also be traced back to his stay in Paris. His travel records contain information to his connections with the Kos­suth emigration as well. 239
