FERENC STORNO SENIOR’S CONNECTION WITH FLÓRIS RÖMER

(A MANUSCRIPT OF MIKSA STORNO)

The manuscript in question was most probably compiled by Miksa Storno (1887- 1978) and is held in the Storno Collection of the Sopron Museum. Based on their German language correspondence the compilation summarizes Ferenc Storno senior’s (1820-1907) and Flóris Rómer’s several decades long connection as friends and colleagues. The inheritance contains some 130 letters of Rómer’s handwriting. Miksa Storno, a grandson of Ferenc Storno senor played an important part in elaborating the family history and publishing the Storno Collection. The manuscript in hand is not signed, the date of its penning is not know, but according to a hint in the text it was written around 1942.
