Közlemények - Bíró Szilvia: Egy különleges pannoniai pecsételt edény a győr-ménfőcsanaki rómia kori vicusból

_ A PECULIAR STAMPED POT FROM THE ROMAN VICUS OF GYŐR-MÉNFŐCSANAK (COUNTY GYŐR-MOSON-SOPRON, HUNGARY, PANNONIA) The stamped pot from the vicus of Győr-Ménfőcsanak discussed by the article provides us new data for the Pannonian pottery production. The vessel belongs to the so-called Pannonian glazed pottery (Pannonische Glanztonware) on the basis of its surface and decoration, but its form reflects late Celtic traditions. The stamped motives (building and wreath-leaf combination) and their composition have been no parallels in Pannonia up till now. The mixture of Celtic form and Roman decoration as well as Roman technology provides us a good example for taking over the Mediterranean influences by the local autochthon people of the province. The process of the Romanisation is obvious on the vessel. The pot can be dated from the 1st half of the 2nd c. A. D., maybe as early as the beginning of the 2nd c.
