CHAPTERS FROM THE ARTISTIC LIFE OF GYŐR IV

1904-1906

The most important events in the fine-artistic life of Győr in 1904 were the conclusion of the portraits of Kossuth Lajos and Rákóczi Ferenc II for the meeting hall of the Town Hall, and the exhibition of the local artist of Benes Pál, Holló Alajos, Horváth Adorján and Molnár Jenő at the end of the year.

Concerning the events in 1905 and 1906 the study discusses the history of the portrait of Bálint Mihály by Benes Pál and the honorary citizen diplomas by Valker Ágnes and Benes Pál that were also commissioned by the local council as well as the successful exhibition of two young painters: Kiss Mihály and Lóth József both of whom were born in Győr.
