NEGYEDES PÁL’S SERMONS ON THE CRYING VIRGIN DEVOTIONAL PICTURE OF GYŐR

This study analyses a sermon referring to the cult of the Crying Virgin devotional picture of Győr in the mirror of homilies of the same topic by Negyedes Pál that were published in 1801. This sermon has not been mentioned by the literature and on the other hand, its text reflects such a philological connection that - irrespective of its content - can be instructive in view of the general textual composition of the sermons. Consequently, the study focuses on the way of the textual composition.
