Dr. Czigány Jenő: Artificially Deformed Skulls of the Xántus János Museum of Győr Among artificial formations and defomations performed on the human body, skull deformation is a folk custom, that had been applied since ancient times, and may be detected on several continents. The finds in Hungary got here from the area of the Crimean peninsula by the mediation of the Alans of Iranian origin, Sarmatians, Huns and nations running away from them in the early period of the Conquest. The exact findspot of the artificially deformed female skull of Xántus János Museum, Győr, Széchenyi tér, Grave 2/a. (1950) is not known.
