Jáki Sándor Teodóz: Egy kunszigeti archaikus népi imádság nyomában
On the track of an archaic folk prayer of Kunsziget The author, a member of the St. Benedictine order, a singing- and music-master and a field-worker in folklore, presents some examples of the treasure of ancient prayers found at Kunsziget, a community of Győr county, located between Győr and Öttevény. The issue has recently been raised in Hungarian special literature by Ms. Zsuzsanna ERDÉLYI after having discovered in December 1968 a special world verging on poetry and religion, and repeatedly revealed in her works published since 1971. The case of Jaki, Sándor Teodóz of Kunsziget has been made expecially precious by the fact that it was recited in 1974 by a school-child who had learned it from his grandmother. During a subsequent collection in 1991, though the one-time imparter remembered the text imperfectly, his mother preserved it completely. This is an excellent example of the grandparents being the key figures in the handing down of traditions through generations. Sándor Teodóz Jaki 331
