In the material of period I/a of the Vatya culture, developped at the beginning of the Middle Bronze Age, we also find the Tokod forms, conveyed by mutual relations (Kulcs). Thus our culture existed partly together with the newly evolved incrusted ware people, and also with the first periods of the Magyarád and Vatya cultures; later the first two occupied the area of our group step by step, amalgamating its population into its own. All this tends to show that the Tokod group, although it is perhaps one of the smallest archaeological units of our Bronze Age, gives the clue to the solution of important historical problems of Komárom County and Southern Slovakia. The monographical treatment of the archaeological material, executed in the frame of a more extensive study, enables us to investigate in detail and to evaluate the cultural changes of the turn of the Early and Middle Bronze Ages.
