The present paper is but a minimal antidorum for colleague Jenő Fitz whose thorough knowledge of the Danubian provinces has contributed - and hopefully will continue to contribute - considerably to the realization of my Prosopographia Militiarum Equestrium quae fuerunt ab Augusto ad Gallienum. I am currently working on Volume V (Supplementum II, 1993) of the PME and would be grateful to my colleagues of the Danube area for keeping me informed of new finds and fresh interpretations.
