In the sign of the "X" - or notes on the anniversary of the Maros-side Colony of Artists After the consecutive traditions of the art colonies in the previous decades, which have created their own unique image in Makó, with the leadership of Ildikó Karsai, a graphic artist, the NATURA Maros-side Colony of Artists was created. It started its operation in 2007 with a symposium that provided professional strategy, and from the following year, every summer, from 1st to 20th August, it is active in our city. As a finale to the workshop, the artists would present their works of art at a joint exhibition on August 20th, at the József Attila Museum in Makó. The creative community is characterized by the healthy diversity of genres and stylistic pursuits, since among the invited artists one can find painters, graphic artists, sculptors and ceramists. The relationship between the values and creative creed, and not the least the high quality of products, create harmonious community cohesion. Each year the artistic work is based on a topic, which shows directions, gives alternatives, yet does not impair creative freedom, as these motifs have broad association possibilities. This year's jubilee event was full of recollection and summaries, thus recalling, reviving and artistically transforming the events, happenings and changes of the past decade which was the inspirational element of this workshop experience.
