Dr. Jenő Nikelszky's journey to the mayor's seat in Makó

Dr. Jenő Nikelszky was Mayor of Makó between 1922-1939. The author worked on a barely known section of his life. His exact date of birth and education had been unknown for a long time. Dr Jenő Nikelszky attended Lutheran schools in Kezmarok and Presoy then studied in Cluj-Napoca and Paris. He served in the First World War, he was wounded, but he was not demobilized. During foreign occupation, he was deputy chief of police of Makó in 1919.
