ABSTRACT MY ETHNOGRAPHIC RESEARCH IN ESZTERGOM AND IN VILLAGES IN THE REGION OF ESZTERGOM In the framework of monographic ethnographic research, I was examining traditional farming in 11 Hungarian villages in which the number of people of national minorities was insignificant. The summary of the research shall be published in the volume "Studies in the Ethnography of Komárom-Esztergom county." In the field of farming, primarily grown plants, bred animals, and the means of living offered by these, provided the skeleton of the research. The topics of agricultural equipment, working processes, and ways of cultivating the land, on the one hand, keeping and tending of animals, on the other, are groups arranged around the given framework of the research. The second chief field of my research focused on the data collected from various types of lands; arable lands, meadows, pastures, forests, vineyards. In the framework of the means of living offered by farming, I dealt with the questions of (live-stock) markets and fairs, possibilities of cartage, and various jobs paid in proportion to yield.
