Természetes, hogy ezzel a rövid beszámolóval még korántsem merítettük ki az új helyiségek minden látnivalóját és érdekességét. Még csak annyit tartunk szükségesnek megjegyezni, hogy a bemutató-termek technikai berendezésének és felszerelésének tervei György Endre mérnök útmutatásai szerint készültek, míg a bútorzat a Fenyő és Geguss Iparművészeti Bútorgyár, szeged, cég jó ízlését és megbízható szolidságú munkáját dicséri. Erre különben később még alkalmunk lesz visszatérni. A Gázgyár ezzel az új helyiséggel nemcsak önmagának szerez új híveket és kiterjedt vevőkört, hanem szinte határt nem ismerő, nagyvonalú áldozatkészségével egy olyan látványossággal emelte Szeged nagyvárosias képét, amelynek híre távoli helyekre is eljut. Ebben nyilvánul meg azután a Kölcsey-utcai bemutató-termek nem csekély jelentősége a városfejlesztés terén is. G.

8" ISTVÁN TÓTH THE USAGE OF MODERN GAS AND ELECTRICAL DEVICES IN SZEGED IN 1929 The author tries to reconstruct the exhibition room and customer relations office built in the 1920s by the modern standards of the age. The author based his article on archive photos and newspaper articles. Advertisements and articles issued in the Szeged Review and photos from the collection of Lajos Auer of Mora Ferenc Museum helped him to put the showroom of the 1920s together. The enquiring reader will be reassured by how well the press worker did to describe the details of the showrooms. This will become apparent by putting the texts and pictures next to each other. To serve the purpose of unity, the author presents the majority of the article untouched only adding a short introduction to it, so that the reader can discover the unison between text and picture. The nearly century old (82 year old) material proves the fact that after the reconstruction works followed by the flood in the 1880s, the truly modern, European and cosmopolitan features of the city were shaped by the improvements of the 1920s. The published documents are truly remarkable due to their unparalleled value in regards with the history of commerce and technology. They are also important documents of researching lifestyle history. The technological devices present on the pictures still belong to brands of world leading excellence.
