NAGYGYÖRGY Zoltán: A Kárász család délvidéki építkezései

Dr. ZSILINSZKY Mihály: Csongrád vármegye története, I-III. (Budapest, 1897, 1898, 1900) ZOLTÁN NAGYGYÖRGY BUILDING ACTIVITY OF THE KÁRÁSZ FAMILY IN SOUTHERN HUNGARY The Kárász family is one of the Hungarian noble families whose history dates back to the times before the Hungarian Conquest in 896. At times the family lived in middle Hungary, later they moved to the Northern or Southern parts, depending on the historical period. The heads of the family always hold distinguished and respected social offices, due to their noble title and also to their own virtue. By way of marriages they increased the family wealth. Relying on their financial sources the family built several prestigious and monumental buildings during the centuries. The family members insisted on leading an honourable and righteous life. They supported poor and honest people, thus people living in the regions once owned by the Kárász family remember them with respect.
